What is Stoa?

Stoa is the league in which we compete. From the Stoa website:

Stoa is a national High School and Junior High Speech and Debate organization serving the needs of privately educated, Christian Homeschooling families. Stoa trains and supports leaders who in turn develop students into confident, articulate leaders who can change their culture through the marketplace of ideas. Our students become like family, learning to encourage one another, accept criticism, and accept both victory and defeat with grace. Our graduates have become leaders at every level of work, community, and ministry.

Stoa Membership

To compete in tournaments, each student must meet Stoa eligibility requirements. Stoa membership is required for all Aspire families. You must acquire a Stoa affiliate number prior to Aspire Speech and Debate Club membership.

You may register your family for Stoa here:

Stoa Tournament Calendar can be found here

Be sure to pay close attention to registration dates. Tournaments often fill very quickly, so you will want to have your affiliate number handy and be ready to register when the tournaments open.

Be sure to coordinate with any duo or debate partners ahead of time to coordinate. Both partners must register in order to compete.

If an event has been filled, go ahead and get on the waiting list. Registrars are often able to open additional rooms and move students into the event.

Once you register for a tournament, email the coaches to let us know who is competing and in which events so we can help your students prepare.
